For the MNE 2005 international conference 387 abstracts
have been submitted from 38 countries. In addition 56 invited
presentations are planned (including 2 submitted abstracts
which have been changed into invited oral presentations). Thus,
in total 441 abstracts have been submitted for MNE 2005 (12%
from America, 27% from Asia, 61% from Europe).
Each submitted abstract has been allocated to 10 of the
240 members of the MNE 2005 International Program Committee
(see "committees") for judgement, which has been
received end of July. The judgement was with respect to Relevance,
Originality, Clarity, Importance, and General Quality. For
each category the best value was 5, i.e. the maximum total
score was 25.
Based on positive judgements (averages score > 15.0)
and as far as possible to the author's preference, allocations
to oral or poster presentations have been done until August
10th.
The MNE 2005 conference site at the Vienna Hofburg congress
center has been extended considerably by renting further
rooms. Consequently, in addition to 56 invited presentations
(6 plenary, 1 dinner plenary, 25 invited oral, 24 invited
poster) the possibility was created to accept 135 oral
and 183 poster presentations.
The large number of oral presentations is made possible
by running four parallel sessions after the plenary session.
A preliminary MNE 2005 Program is available (see "program").
Program changes are due to some of the authors sending
notice that they prefer poster instead of oral presentations,
and vice versa. Thus, the final program is expected to
be available end of August.
